Just A Naptown Girl
If you want the full story behind Meghan and Bobby's Match.com romance, you'll have to ask them to reprise the original song they performed at their welcome reception. Yes, they are that awesome. They rewrote the lyrics to “Don't Stop Believin'” to tell the tale of how their love unfolded. Just a Naptown girl/Living in a lonely world/Took an Amtrak train going anywhere/Just a city boy/Raised in Staten Island, New York/Drove a beat-up Saturn going anywhere…
A Lowcountry Betrothal
When the couple started planning a long weekend in Charleston, South Carolina, Meghan had her suspicions. However, Bobby quickly threw her off the scent, dropping hints that he hadn't even asked her dad for his blessing. So, on day two of the trip, when Meghan decided they needed a cute photo in front of Rainbow Row, she couldn't figure out why her normally gregarious boyfriend “suddenly became the strangest and most indecisive person,” while trying to find a passerby to help. Poor Bobby was just trying to queue up some Whitney Houston to set the mood! Next thing she knew, he was on one knee, and the rest was a blur as all of Charleston stared at Meghan awkwardly laugh-crying.
The All-Star Officiant
According to Meghan, the easiest decision during the planning process was asking Bobby's oldest friend, Adam Pekor, to marry them. “He blew our expectations out of the water,” Meghan says. Before the ceremony, Adam asked both sets of parents about the qualities that make up a lasting marriage and for advice specific to Meghan and Bobby; he then incorporated their answers into his homily. “Between that and our vows, there wasn't a dry eye in the crowd,” Meghan says. She also treasured the role both her and Bobby's mothers played in their unity candle lighting.
Their Wedding Crashers
OK, technically, Squire Fred and Hal the Piper were not wedding crashers, but their presence did surprise Meghan and Bobby's other guests. After the pair's Paca House ceremony, Squire Fred, the town crier, gathered the crowd to publicly pronounce Meghan and Bobby's marriage and lead them down Annapolis' cobblestone streets to the Governor Calvert House reception. Meanwhile, Hal the Piper provided just the right Celtic touch to evoke the pair's Scotch-Irish lineage.
That Brilliant First Dance
Ever the goofballs, Meghan and Bobby shocked their family and friends during their first dance with a choreographed James Arthur/Michael Jackson mashup complete with light-up sneakers.
