The Couple. Laura, a therapist for Catholic Charities, and Ryan, an electrical engineer, met at a restaurant in Baltimore when Laura was cele ating her best friend’s birthday. Ryan walked into the restaurant with a friend and immediately spotted the two girls together. The rest is history!
The Venue. Even before meeting one another, they both wanted a vineyard wedding. Running Hare was the perfect location. The couple loved meeting the owners and the style of the vineyard itself. “As soon as we went there, we knew we had to have our wedding there,” recalls Laura.
The Dress. Laura remembers it being very tough to pick out a wedding dress. As she says, “all wedding dresses are so beautiful, how do you choose?” She picked based on a simple rule she created for herself. She chose the dress that made her smile the most. It wasn’t what she was originally envisioning she would wear for her wedding day, but it was the dress and she absolutely loved it!
The First Look. Laura and Ryan are thrilled they chose to do a first look because it turned out to be the only time they had to be alone on their wedding day. “I strongly encourage others to at least think about doing a first look,” Laura recommends.
The Ceremony. The officiant was Laura’s youth group leader from high school. Laura always saw her as an important role model in her life, which made it very special for the couple. “Having her there sharing her wisdom of marriage and love was inspiring,” shares Laura.
The Surprise Guest. One of Laura’s idesmaids had organized to have Poe, the mascot for the Baltimore Ravens, surprise them at the reception. They were completely shocked and so appreciative of their surprise guest.
The Best Decision. Hiring a videographer was something that they thought could be cut from their budget. They ultimately chose to hire one and are very happy they did. Now they love getting to watch their special day from another perspective.
The Honeymon. The couple spent two weeks in Ireland for their honeymoon. Their favorite part? Baltimore, a small fishing town that only has three pubs (all of which are filled with Ravens and Orioles gear).
