It’s a nice day for a white wedding. In fact, there are no hard–and–fast rules stating that the bride can’t request that everyone show up to the wedding wearing white. Ever since Pippa Middleton stepped out in her iconic white gown at the royal wedding in 2011, brides have been more open to nude, neutral and even white bridesmaid dresses. But why not take it a step further?br
Christianna Harding and her fiancé, David Mackenzie, pulled off a flash mob style wedding in September 2015 when they invited their friends and family to their backyard for a little get together and tapas party. Nobody knew the couple was engaged, let alone that they were about to witness their marriage that evening. The couple asked that everyone wear white. Simple enough. A “Diner en Blanc” with your closest friends and family? We’d show up, too!
You don’t have to keep your engagement a secret (although the idea is growing on us) to throw a white wedding of your own. A simple dress code request is all it takes to throw your own “en Blanc” event.
