Girl Scouts' Distinguished Women Awards Celebration

Join Girl Scouts of Central Maryland as they honor four accomplished women: Jennifer Herwig, VP, Human Resources, BGE; Yumi Hogan, First Lady of Maryland and renowned artist; Gracelyn McDermott, VP, Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States; Dr. Marylou Yam, President, Notre Dame of Maryland University. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations... and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt!

MC3 presents a solo exhibit by Patrice Drago. The show includes selected works from several series; one which was being produced when the pandemic hit; another done in the midst of the intense isolation; another as we were emerging and then-current works reflecting the emergence to a new normal. It is a progression of work done between - and during - the phases of constant change.

The season ends with a bang; season finale program begins with world premiere, anniversary commission by American Composer Jessica Hunt followed by Tchaikovsky's sublime Piano Concerto No. 1 with soloist Olga Kern.
Talbot County Tour/ Maryland House & Garden Pilgrimage

This fabulous self-guided tour takes you to six private iconic historic and waterfront properties with inspiring landscapes outdoors and stunning floral arrangements indoors! SITE #1: Talbot Historical Society, 25 S. Washington Street, Easton, MD: On Tour, visitors gain access to some of Maryland’s most celebrated historic properties, fabulous waterfront estates, and exquisite spring gardens. Included are Riverbank, Shipshead Farm, Leggacy, Gross Coate Farm, Ashby, William Mason Shehan House, and the Third Haven Friends Meeting House – all in Easton. The Tour starts at the award-winning Talbot Historical Society Garden, lovingly maintained by the Talbot County Garden Club. Proceeds will help restore Joseph’s Cottage, a late 18th Century wooden dwelling on the Historical Society grounds.

Saturday, May 7th at Davidsonville Park the Davidsonville Athletic Association is hosting the Third Annual Gator Day Spring Carnival. The Park will play host to a full day of athletic competitions, clinics, and combines, as well as a large spring carnival complete with games, food trucks, local vendors, a silent auction, and music.

Six Pillars Century Blackwater Tour Fundraiser

We are BACK for our 15th year as the Six Pillars Century. We appreciate everyone who came out and rode with us last year, with all of our COVID protocols in place, and we hope to get back to a sense of normalcy for 2022! We will be on the same great routes as last year, and can't wait to show you all that Dorchester County has to offer. Fingers crossed we can give you a big celebration at Gerry Boyle Park at Great Marsh when we are all done for the day! 22nd Annual Multicultural Festival

It’s been a trying time of separation for everyone since Covid shut everything down two years ago. Through it all, however, the diverse and durable bonds of our community have not only survived but continue to thrive. That’s what this year’s Multicultural Festival, the first to be held since 2019, is going to be all about: bringing everyone together again to celebrate the diverse strengths of our resilient community. Although the Mid-Shore has weathered these challenging times well, Moore says she feels we’re all ready for a big reunion of sorts.

Investigate the colonial herb garden and learn the importance of herbs in medicine and cooking. They will also tour the kitchen of the Hammond-Harwood House, examine cooking equipment from the past, and learn about various spices. Each participant will create a beautiful basket to take home as a special gift for that special Mom in their life!

Mother's Day Cruise in Annapolis

Our 95-foot luxury yacht, Catherine Marie, will take you out on the water for a leisurely 2-hour cruise with live music by Guava Jelly. Bratislava Boys' Choir Performance
May 8th, 3 p.m.; Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, Severna Park
The world-renowned Bratislava Boys' Choir has been part of Slovakia's artistic scene since 1982. Their performance will be Sunday, May 8 at 3 PM at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park Maryland. The ensemble is part of a private music school with 90 students aged 7 to 28, and its concert ensemble has 45 members. Years of collaboration with symphonic orchestras have enriched the choir's repertoire with dozens of oratorios, cantatas, and symphonies, and their repertoire also spans a wide selection sacred and secular works. Several Slovak composers have dedicated specific works to this ensemble. The boys' comprehensive vocal training has also empowered them to perform in musicals and alongside pop stars. Across Slovakia as well as abroad they have captivated audiences in European cities and many countries including the United States, Canada and Japan. Come join with us in celebrating this wonderful, talented group of musical artists.
