Gene Whissel has been a trial lawyer since admission to the bar in 1978. He served as Assistant State’s Attorney for a combined 20 years in Prince George’s and Anne Arundel Counties. Since entering private practice in 1997, his focus has been the defense of Criminal, DUI and Motor Vehicle violations as well as Domestic Violence and Juvenile matters. Gene’s 36 years as a litigator is enhanced by his previous experience as a Baltimore City Police Officer and involvement in Federal Criminal Investigations. Clients of his firm have included lawyers, prosecutors, police officers, federal agents, doctors, accountants and numerous other professionals.
brIn addition to trial work, Gene served as an Adjunct Professor of criminal law at the University of Baltimore School of Law, as well as the Anne Arundel Community College. He is a volunteer Assistant Professor of the University of Maryland Medical School, Forensic Psychiatry Program, and an instructor for the Maryland Institute of Criminal Justice.
