David A. Simison has been voted a Leading Lawyer in Mediation in What's Up? Magazine in 2009, 2012 and again in 2014.
His mediation practice focuses on Divorce/Family, Real Estate/Business and Probate. He provides a safe environment allowing clients the opportunity to express their needs and desires. He works closely with his clients to achieve the proverbial “win-win.” He honors neutrality and impartiality, while encouraging his clients to meet challenges with practical and meaningful solutions.
Dave is a recognized leader in the field. He is past Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association's ADR Section. He served on the ADR Section Council for over six years and he is past Co-Chair of the Certification Committee for the Maryland Council for Dispute Resolution. He was adjunct faculty in Mediation at Anne Arundel Community College and coached mediation for MSBA, MICPEL, ABA and others.
Dave was first trained in 1998 and his practices have been observed by others who have certified he meets the “highest standards” in mediation. For the last eight years he has both observed and certified other mediators for MCDR, one of the few credentialing organizations in the U.S.
Dave receives Court referrals in domestic and non-domestic cases on a regular basis.
As an attorney for more than 30 years, he has experience in virtually all areas of the law. After he graduated from University of Maryland and then the University of Toledo College of Law, he returned to Annapolis and has been in sole practice since the early ’80s. He has extensive training in Collaborative Law and no longer accepts cases for litigation. He is a former President of the Anne Arundel Bar Association and Bar Foundation. He served on the Board of Governors of the MSBA and he has headed various committees for the AABA including the ADR Committee.
