Jonathan Kagan has been a private practice attorney in Annapolis for over 24 years representing companies and individuals throughout Maryland. In 2015, Jonathan formed Kagan Law Group, which has six highly skilled attorneys who handle business, employment, and real estate matters, as well as civil litigation in all levels of the State and Federal courts.
The partners are Jonathan Kagan, Michael Marinello, and Ryan Beard. The associates are Meagan Cooper Borgerson and Patrick Daley, and Travis Martz serves as “of counsel” to the firm. Each attorney is dedicated to providing top quality legal services for our clients and successfully achieving their legal goals in a cost efficient manner. All partners are “AV” rated by Martindale Hubbell which is the highest rating attorneys can receive from their peers.
The firm’s business law practice includes business formation, stockholder and operating agreements, stock purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, and related security agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and promissory notes. The firm also drafts and reviews licensing agreements and customer and vendor contracts.
The firm’s employment law practice involves the drafting and review of employment agreements, non-solicitation and non-competition agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and severance agreements. The firm advises businesses and employees on human resource matters, employment handbooks, and employment policies, including wage and hour laws, overtime, and discrimination laws. The firm’s lawyers are also trained and experienced in conducting confidential internal investigations for businesses regarding potential violations of employment laws and other sensitive business matters.
When litigation arises or becomes necessary, the firm’s experienced trial attorneys handle civil cases in all trial and appellate courts in Maryland, as well as in arbitration. Our trial attorneys are experienced in handling each of business, employment, and real estate contracts, as well as cases involving each of fiduciary duty, each of trust, duty of loyalty, negligence, negligent misrepresentation, fraud, intentional interference with business relationships, and unfair competition.
The combination of trial, business, and employment experience have made the attorneys at Kagan Law Group an ideal choice to serve as outside counsel for companies and work with management on a regular basis to address their particular legal needs.
