Hall of Fame linebacker Sam Huff announced his retirement from the Washington Redskins radio booth after spending 38 years as a commentator during team oadcasts. Huff, 78, worked in a reduced role last season as his health had become a factor. He will be honored before a Redskins game to be determined this season. r rr
D.C. United (2-11-3) netted their first win since March 9th, a span of 105 days, when they beat the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 at R.F.K. Stadium on Saturday. Thanks to Chris Pontius’ 11th minute penalty kick, the team oke their club-record 13-game winless streak. The club is set to part ways with Brazilian Designated Player Rafael. The reputation of the Navy football team took a blow when three players (current and former) who were accused of sexually assaulting a female mid were identified last week. The players, Tra’ves Bush, who started every game last season as a senior safety, Josh Tate, a linebacker who played in every game in 2012, and Eric Graham a senior safety who is not on Navy’s 2013, were identified by The Capital on Friday. r rr
