So why, oh why, did wedding stress rear its ugly head last night when I was trying to go to sleep? Honestly, I'm probably stressed about other things (My 13-year-old cat's vet appointment today chief among them) and it's manifesting itself into wedding-planning stress. But that didn't help. All I could think about was that the wedding venue wouldn't look exactly like I wanted it to because I hadn't told anyone my overall vision yet and how would they know? I guess the fact that there's six months to let someone know what it should look like just escaped my mind.
So I'm getting some stuff done to make myself feel better. I'm going to buy some paper products later today to create an invitation sample to see if the design I've been working on looks as good in reality as it does on screen. I'm going to buy my damask "I Do" letters for the gift table. I'm going to price out white pillar candles for the reception tables. And then, I'm going to calm the heck down because I have practically six months until my wedding, and there is no reason to stress!!
Now that's done with, let's take a look at some decisions I've made regarding the damask decorations in my wedding, and what I'm still pondering.
To recap, my main wedding color is burgundy/dark red with black and white damask. I don't want the damask to overwhelm the wedding, so I'm using it somewhat sparingly. So far, I have plans for the damask "I Do" letters on the gift table, damask runners laying over white tablecloths on the dinner tables, and a damask card box. I'm still on the mission to find more damask items without overwhelming the whole wedding in damask.
A couple months ago, I was at Michael's Craft Store and found this:
It's a damask card box! It has a place for a picture (or, perhaps, a little sign that says "cards") and then an opening behind that picture frame for the cards to be dropped. My wonderful future mother-in-law bought it for me while we were in Arizona a month or so ago — isn't that great?

I was just talking to my fiance about how I want a sign right when people walk in the door that says something like "Welcome to our wedding." At $60, though, this chalkboard might be a little more than I'm willing to pay.

I just love these wine glasses as the special " ide and groom" wine glasses. I might actually order the monograms and put them on champagne flutes, because I'm definitely planning on drinking champagne that night. I'm not sure David, my fiance, would actually drink out of them — he doesn't particularly like champagne — but they'd be great souvenirs.
