he public is invited to join the service men and women of Fort George G. Meade for their annual Red, White and Blue Independence Day Celebration on Friday, June 28 from 4-10 p.m.
The public is invited to join the service men and women of Fort George G. Meade for their annual Red, White and Blue Independence Day Celebration on Friday, June 28 from 4-10 p.m.
Thousands are expected to turn out for this popular community event taking place on Fort Meade's McGlachlin Parade Field. You are invited to purchase amusement ride wrist bands from the Fort Meade Leisure Travel office for $5. The price for a wrist band is $8 on the day of the event. Rides are available from 4-8 p.m. Food vendors, including more than 15 food trucks, will be open from 4-9:30 p.m. and will offer sweets, beverages, beer and novelties. Attendees are invited to plan a picnic on the parade field. Bring a lawn chair, blanket and outdoor games.
The event will also include live music from School of Rock, Maryland National Guard Reserves Band and Juke Box Heroes. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.
For the safety of all guests, no grilling, sparklers, firecrackers or glass containers are allowed on the parade field. Please leave your pets at home.
Those without military ID must enter the installation via the Reece Road gate at 902 Reece Road, Fort Meade (Odenton).
