French guitarist Gabriel Bianco is one of the most active guitarists of his generation. He began studying the guitar with his father at age 5 and later graduated from the Paris National Conservatory. Gabriel has won First Prize in some of the most prestigious international competitions, such as the “Guitar Foundation of America,” “Andrés Segovia” in Spain, “Hubert Kappel” in Koblenz, Germany, and “Guitarre Forum Wien” in Austria.
His career has led him to perform in major concert halls in Moscow, Paris, Beijing, and San Francisco to name a few, and he is invited regularly to perform in festivals on four continents.
Gabriel has recorded several CDs. His solo recordings are “Guitar Recital” released on Naxos features music by Bach, Mertz, and Koshkin, and a second solo recording with music by Da Milano, Scarlatti, Regondi, and Paganini, released on Ad Vitam Records. Gabriel is also an active chamber musician, having release “Guitares” and “Invitation française” with the Quatuor Eclisses on Ad Vitam Records.
Gabriel is the chair of the guitar department at the Amsterdam Conservatory.
This concert will mark Gabriel’s Baltimore debut.
