The Annapolis Watercolor Club announces it 2019 Art Show and Sale at Historic Linthicum Walks in Crofton, MD. It will be held the first two weekends in October, with Saturdays Oct 5 and 12, from 10 am to 4 pm, and Sundays, Oct 6 and 13, from Noon to 4pm. Our closing reception and awards will be on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 2 to 4 pm.
The public is invited to view the wonderful watercolors and visit this picturesque 250-year-old, six-acre historical farmhouse and arboretum in Anne Arundel County. There will also be artists “painting in plein air” on the lawn – be sure to visit with them about their work.
An easy drive from Annapolis, Historic Linthicum Walks is located at 2295 Davidsonville Road (MD Rt. 424) in Crofton, Maryland, 21054, next door to Crofton Middle School, near Crofton Park. Look for the white, wooden post with “Linthicum Walks – circa 1780” sign at the entrance to the property off Rt 424.
The artists of the Annapolis Watercolor Club will be exhibiting their paintings, as well as matted original paintings and prints. Thirty percent of sales will be donated to the
Friends of Historic Linthicum Walks to help with the preservation of the property and cultural programs.
A giclée reproduction of the above painting of the farmhouse by Joan Machinchick will be raffled off as an additional benefit for Historic Linthicum Walks. The drawing will be held during the Closing Reception on Sunday, October 13th, winner need not be present.
The show will be judged by noted watercolor artist, Ken Karlic. Prizes will be awarded to First, Second, Third and Honorable Mentions. Show attendees are invited to vote for their favorite painting for the “People’s Choice Award.”
Please join us for the Closing Reception and Awards on Sunday, Oct 13th, from 2 to 4 pm. Framed pieces purchased during the show may be picked up at this time. We are only able to accept cash and checks for watercolor purchases.
