Join jazz vocalist Theresa Sise & Sweet Tea when they return to 49 West on Saturday, March 9 at 8:00 p.m. with a very special program called “Irish Eyes.” In celebration of her Irish roots, Sise has gathered songs from 1912 – 2013 from jazz, pop and traditional genres, along with music from the beloved film “Finian’s Rainbow.”
Hear favorites like “If This Isn’t Love,” re-energized by Cecile McLorin Salvant in 2013, and “No Envy, No Fear” by Josh Radin. Enjoy the humor of “Who Threw the Overalls in Mrs. Murphy’s Chowder?” and the nostalgic (and a wee bit corny), “Did Your Mother Come from Ireland?”
Theresa Sise is a rising star in the jazz scene. She performed in big bands and combos throughout the region before forming Sweet Tea, a trio of well-respected Mid-Atlantic musicians with extensive performing and recording experience. They’ve sold out multiple shows at 49 West and Cafe Mezzanotte, drawn hundreds of fans to their Avalon Theatre date and packed a recent benefit concert for the Annapolis Jazz & Roots. The trio features pianist Darius Scott, drummer Nick Costa and bassist Max Murray.
The restaurant is located at 49 West Street in Historic Annapolis. Seating is limited and a sellout is expected. Admission is $25. Make reservations now by calling 49 West at 410-626-9796.
