• If you haven't heard already, Main Street restaurant Aqua Terra closed on April 28th after 10 years in Annapolis' downtown. I haven't yet heard a reason for the shuttering, but no doubt that plenty of Annapolis patrons are mourning the loss of the city's place for jazz music.

• A new café is coming from Crownsville, owned by recent transplants to Annapolis. Mark A ahams, a native Australian, and his wife will soon open Bean Rush Café after spending years in the mega-yacht industry. While they originally expected the café, located at 1015 Generals Highway, to be open this month, but a burst water pipe moved opening day to June. A ahams says they plan to serve organic and fair trade coffee, as well as freshly made croissants, loose-leaf teas, and Italian-style paninis. "The local community has been extremely welcoming to a nomadic Aussie backpacker," A ahams says. "Shannon and I can't wait to create a sense of community and pride in local Crownsville eating."

• Local coffee company Ceremony Coffee Roasters just returned from the US Brewers Cup Championship with a big honor – employee Andy Sprenger was named champion for the second consecutive year, and will now head to Vienna Austria, for the World Brewers Cup competition. Sprenger competed against 44 contestants in the US competition and was scored on sensory and technical performance on ewing the coffee. Ceremony Coffee Roasters is the new identity for the coffeehouses formerly known as Caffé Pronto, located off West Street on Russell Street and in the Festival at Riva shopping center.

• National chain Bonefish Grill will be opening two new locations in our area. In Annapolis, the restaurant, which specializes in seafood, will take the place of the former Real Seafood below The Chop House. In West County, the restaurant will open a location in the new Waugh Chapel Shopping Center.
