Upping your exercise routine may be an uphill battle if your job has you sitting in a chair for most of the day. So how do you increase the number of steps you take and add movement to your daily routine?
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator. A isk walk up the stairs increases your heart rate and strengthens your leg and hip muscles.
- Park your car at the far end of the parking lot when you go shopping to add a short walk to your shopping routine. (You'll also get fewer door dings.)
- Instead of emailing or using the intercom in the office, get up and talk with your colleagues face to face.
- Make a habit of getting up from your office chair and stretching every hour.
