Nationally known, award-winning floral and garden specialists entertained a sold-out audience of more than 250 women from throughout Maryland during the Talbot County Garden Club's biennial spring symposium last month in Easton.
Featured speakers were Jon Carloftis, an award-winning garden designer, writer, author and lecturer, who shared photos and stories of the gardens of his family's homestead in Kentucky, as well as from the stunning rooftop gardens of his Manhattan, NY, clients. Carloftis specializes in rooftop gardens, turning otherwise unsightly and unused spaces into relaxing retreats. Greg Campbell, founding partner of “The Garden District, Memphis” created stunning floral arrangements while sharing tips of the trade as well as his experiences as a business owner. He has handled floral designs for weddings and special events around the world, including those for many well-known cele ities. Bill Graham, a business owner, humorist and award-winning floral arranger, entertained the audience with stories while creating floral arrangements and discussing fashion trends.
Several Talbot County businesses, including Garden Treasures, Dwelling & Design and Bay Hundred Botanicals, among others, were featured in a marketplace where attendees could shop for the latest in flowers, gardening supplies and decor.
The event is this year's largest fundraiser for the Talbot County Garden Club. The funds support the club's projects throughout the community.
