Milford H. Marchant Jr., M.D., is a fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist at Harborview Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at Harbor Hospital. He has clinical expertise in treating a wide variety of sports-related injuries and arthritis of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. He specializes in the non-operative and operative treatment of injuries in both youth and adult patients of all skill levels, from recreational to professional athletes. In caring for his patients, he emphasizes patient education and the importance of injury prevention and rehabilitation.
Dr. Marchant completed a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic (Los Angeles, CA). During his fellowship, he assisted the head team physician in the orthopaedic care of the 2009 World Champion Los Angeles Lakers. In addition, he served as an assistant team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Sparks, Anaheim Ducks, and Fullerton College. Dr. Marchant attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he graduated with honors as a Doctor of Medicine. He continued his medical training as an Orthopaedic Surgery resident at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Marchant is a native of the Annapolis area and is the Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine physician for the Bayhawks.
