Chairman, President and CEO of Ethan Allen, Farooq Kathwari, joined the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a fundraising event on January 26, 2012 to cele ate the grand opening of the new interactive Ethan Allen Design Center at 1906 Towne Centre Boulevard in Annapolis.
“This Design Center is the first of its kind in the Mid Atlantic region, and it is the model for our continued expansion not only in the United States but internationally as well,” said Mr. Kathwari.
At the grand opening event, guests mingled and toured the state-of-the-art facility in which the newest Ethan Allen products are showcased in room displays. They bid on silent auction prizes that included gift certificates for fine dining, spa treatments, and jewelry from local establishments as well as for furnishings from the company's own 5 Signature Lifestyles. All proceeds benefited Friends of the Lighthouse Shelter, an organization that helps people rebuild their lives by providing shelter and services to prevent homelessness and to empower people as they transition toward self-sufficiency.
Mr. Kathwari noted that Ethan Allen has been part of the American landscape for nearly 80 years and that every community the company serves is important. "We are pleased to have had such a positive response from our friends in Annapolis, and we look forward to continuing the expansion of our Design Center network in the months ahead,” he added.
Ethan Allen plans to open several new Design Centers in the U.S. and a oad this year.
