Karlie Brenton
Saints Peter and Paul,
Soccer, Basketball, Softball
In sports and in life, variety is how Karlie Brenton makes her name. The three-sport athlete certainly knows how to keep busy.
Karlie is involved in Growology Club, Pro-life Club, Key Club, Chorus, SGA, National Honor Society President, and Mock Trial. “I enjoy the diversity in the people in these clubs,” she says, “because everyone is very different and not like me, which is nice, when I am playing sports with the same people all of the time.”
In soccer, basketball, and softball Brenton earned the Mens Sana Award from her freshman to junior years. She also earned conference championships and first team all-conference in soccer her first three seasons. As a captain she was given the Coaches Award. Karlie was also named MVP and won the Triple Threat Award during her junior year on her softball team.
Last season on the hardwood, Karlie was named team captain and earned honorable mention all-conference and earned most improved player. She also was named the most improved player her sophomore year and helped her team earn conference titles her freshman and junior seasons.
Brenton’s top memory of her high school career came during her freshman soccer season. Normally a sweeper, she was moved to defense just before overtime began during the championship match. After that move, she shut her opponent down and helped the Sa es earn a title in a nerve-wracking contest.
After she leaves Saints Peter and Paul, Karlie would like to continue playing soccer and major in pre-law, communications, or business. She is passionate about seeking truth, uncovering justice, and being a leader, so becoming a lawyer or business manager are not out of the question for her once she earns her degree.
“I like that this year I really get to be a role model for the other grade levels and teach them to also become leaders within the school and on the playing field.”
Her goals for her senior season include becoming a four-year triple threat athlete, run a successful fundraiser for a local charity through the National Honor Society, and to just have fun.
