After learning the ropes in the mortgage industry, Bill decided to combine his years of professional experience in the financial industry with his natural leadership ability and join Academy Mortgage Corporation as a Loan Officer and Branch Manager. So in July 2011, Bill joined an elite group of Academy Mortgage’s top producers and headed to the small village of Secanquin, Guatemala to build a new water system. Working side-by-side with the local residents, Bill, his fellow loan officers and corporate executives got to see life from a whole new perspective. Bill reflected, “We think we work hard pushing a pencil around at our desks 12 hours a day. Nah. That’s not work. This…what these folks do all day every day just to survive—that’s work.”

Bill returned home with an even stronger commitment to serve his community and truly connect with every person he comes in contact with, both personally and professionally. Bill continues to grow and expand his team of loan officers, processors, underwriters and closers with a focus on professional excellence, teamwork and a sense of humor.
