The theme of the event is “Blooms for United Way” explains Board Member and Blooms Chair, Gail Ruppe. “This is the time to cele ate new beginnings with the coming of spring.” The Country Club will be blanketed with “beautiful blooms” thanks again to the generosity of Blooms Sponsor Gary Mangum of Bell Nurseries. All of the plants and blooms can be had through the live and silent auctions, along with many other items generously donated by United Way supporters.

The United Way Board of Directors is once again presenting the “Spring Into Giving Wheelbarrow Raffle,” a wheelbarrow imming with gardening items that will be raffled off at the event. The wheelbarrow is on display now at Kent Island Branch of Bank Annapolis, who has also signed up again this year as the Event Sponsor!

Raffle tickets are 5 for $10 and tickets are available for purchase at Bank Annapolis. According to United Way Past President Carllene Hurd, “BankAnnapolis is thrilled to be the Event Sponsor again this year. The United Way of Queen Anne's County has been a Community Partner of ours since 2005. We have the same goal to help the people that live here have better, more productive lives. Because they're our neighbors, our friends, and our families.”

This year's ticket price is $60 per person and will include an Italiano meal, followed by a Mixed Berry Trifle with whipped cream for dessert and an open bar (beer, wine and sodas). Also, local company, Blackwater Distilling, will be presenting their Sloop Betty hand crafted wheat vodka for tastings!

Along with the Silent and Live Auction this year, there will be live music! Kent Island resident, Bryan Gall will ing relaxing sounds with flutes from around the world: bansuri, bamboo flute of India, shakuhachi, bamboo flute of Japan and Native American style flutes. Bryan will perform with some of his own creations, and will be accompanied by tracks of piano and guitar.
