Since 1980, Chris Drummond has pursued an eclectic legal career that may help to explain his selection as an Eastern Shore Leading Lawyer in three categories in the past two years. As a young lawyer, Chris represented commercial shipping and cargo companies in admiralty cases in Baltimore. He assisted in the defense of companies accused of civil and criminal violations of Maryland environmental laws.
In 1984, Chris opened his first office as a sole practitioner in Queen Anne’s County. Since then, he has represented a oad variety of corporate, government, and individual clients. Chris is honored to have represented the Queen Anne’s County Planning Commission and Department of Planning & Zoning since 1988. He is the Town Attorney for Denton and Secretary and Attorney for the Dorchester County Planning Commission. Chris has represented the Town of Easton Board of Appeals and Historic District Commission. Property owners and neighborhood groups have asked for his assistance on zoning, land use, and environmental issues across the Mid-Shore. Chris has maintained his interest in maritime law by representing a number of marinas and yacht okers.
Chris was an Assistant State’s Attorney in Queen Anne’s County for a number of years and successfully prosecuted many felony cases. He has always maintained an active family law practice and done his best to remember that compromise and common sense produce the best results in difficult cases. Chris has also represented many of the condominum and homeowners associations in Queen Anne’s County and established residential and commercial condominium regimes across the Mid-Shore.
An avid boater, Chris has sailed to Bermuda, traveled the ICW, and found most of the creeks and coves of the Chesapeake Bay. He is an honors graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park and the University of Maryland Law School. GO TERPS!
