Cam idge, MD - The Dorchester Humane Society was recently awarded a $1,375.00 grant from the Snyder Foundation For Animals in Baltimore. The Snyder Foundation's Board of Directors selected Dorchester Humane Society to receive this gift based on their past performance. The money will be used to subsidize the cost to spay/neuter companion animals belonging to lower income families. “We are honored to receive this gift and proud that the Snyder Foundation supports our good work,” states Suzette Stitely Executive Director of the society. “Our spay/neuter program needs funding so we can help those who can't afford the cost. In these difficult economic times, there are many more requests than we can fund.” The Dorchester Humane Society is the leading no-kill shelter on the Eastern Shore and depends on donations and grants to support its programs.
