Though she's uncertain of her destination in college next year, and has yet to settle on a major (she's leaning toward Business Management or Psychology), there's one thing everyone, including Dominique, knows—she's a star in the classroom and on the court. With a 3.68 GPA and a list of basketball accolades dating back to before her freshman year with the Seahawks, she's been a force in AAU basketball too, having been a key cog in teams which won three straight Maryland championships. Named All-County and team MVP in high school basketball as a freshman and sophomore, odds are this season will end with similar honors— but what she really wants is to continue getting better, regardless of the laurels showered upon her. Nonetheless, she admits her family's every bit as important. “The thing I enjoy most about sports is the lifetime improvements that help you succeed,” she says. “But I also enjoy spending time with my family the most.” An aficionado of poetry and music, she also enjoys her heavy course load of aerospace engineering. A member of Project Lead The Way, such an interest is a good fit. The daughter of Walter and Cynthia Hagins, Dominique has an older sibling, 22-year-old Jonte' Valentine.
