We've been waiting all summer for this annual party and it's finally upon us! Arts Alive 15!, the 15th annual Arts Alive Gala, benefiting Maryland Hall and kicking off the 2013-2014 season, will take place this Friday night in Annapolis. This year, Maryland Hall’s biggest fundraiser of the year will feature a nautical theme, and will once again take place in the (cooled) tent on the Maryland Hall lawn, and feature live and silent auctions, a spread of hors d’oeuvres, libations, and entertainment.

Basic Details.Tickets are $150/person, and the event takes place Friday, Sept. 6thfrom 6–11 p.m. at Maryland Hall.
Parking. The parking situation at Maryland Hall is ideal. There is plenty of it, and it’s free. The lots are pretty close to the lawn, but if you do happen to find yourself an uncomfortable distance in particularly uncomfortable shoes, be on the lookout for an ECruiser to shuttle you over.
The Bar. It’s open, and it’ll feature beer and wine all night long. Hard liquor--should you even miss it--will have to be reserved for a nearby (or at-home) nightcap.
The Dress. We’re told that guests should dress comfortably. That means women should leave the heels at home, and men can ditch the tie. A sundress and sandals for her, and khakis and boat shoes for him. Dress for the weather, with the following in mind: there will be no coat check (appropriately so for the first week of September), and there will be fans and air conditioners.
The Fare. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be available throughout the evening, as well as desserts. There will not be a plated dinner.
The Seating. Sponsors will have a table for their guests, and individual ticket holders will be assigned a table. The event is spread out among two tents: the first will have dinner tables, and the other, high top tables, with food and bars throughout both.
Entertainment. Guests will be in for a unique treat, with the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra playing from 6–7 p.m., and pianist Erik Apland from 7–9 p.m. In addition to musical entertainment, the event will feature both a silent auction, open from 6 to 8:30 p.m., and a live auction at 9 p.m. There will also be a raffle of four nautically-themed trips, tickets for which can be purchased in advance for $100.
