An All-MCAL soccer player as a freshman, this speedy sophomore sports a perfect 4.0 GPA. Though he excels individually in class, Jay knows the life lessons learned from team sports are every bit as important as doing well on your own.
“The core of a sport is teamwork,” Jay says, “and that's what makes them so great. The connection that forms between the members of your team as you all work in the heat of the moment cannot be compared to anything else.” Captain of the hoops team and MVP, he was an MCAL allstar over the winter.
Jay finished third in the state VFW Patriot's Pen essay contest as an eighth-grader, and has taken part in the Science Olympiad for four years running. He lives in Bowie with his parents, Chip and Ellen, and his teenage sisters Rachel and Abby.
