KIFA partners with Gibson's Grant and CBEC for their 9th Artoberfest!
Grab your favorite sweater, your family and friends and celebrate the Kent Island Federations of Arts’ 9th annual Artoberfest at a new venue, the newest waterfront community in Kent Island, Gibson's Grant. Thirty artist and artisan vendors will be set up to exhibit and sell their paintings, photography, fine crafts, jewelry and more, all under the magnificent and pristine tree covered front lawn of the Manor House, the original residence on the historic property.
Kent Island Federation of Arts in Stevensville, an all volunteer organization, is celebrating its 49th year of bringing arts and arts education to Kent Island and the surrounding communities. KIFA relies on donations from individuals and business partners in the community. Gibson’s Grant is one such partner, offering their beautiful grounds for this great fall family festival of arts and nature.
Gibson’s Grant, is a conservation-based community with 55 acres of scenic wetlands and over 2 miles of nature trails. Gibson’s Grant offers a wealth of opportunities for fresh air, exercise and connecting with the natural world. The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (CBEC) has established a program of environmental education seminars in the community, which serves as a living outdoor classroom.
The day's activities will include the art festival, a pumpkin patch, children's crafts and a raffle. A free picnic lunch will be available. The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center will be presenting programs including a Birds of Prey Exhibit and Children’s Program at 12 noon in the Pavilion and a nature lecture entitled ‘Wildlife at Gibson’s Grant’ at 1 p.m. in the Manor House on the property.
Come join the fun!
