New Technology Allows Customers to Simply Drive In and Drive Out
Annapolis, MD – The City of Annapolis and SP+, a Metropolis company, will upgrade Knighton Garage and Gott’s Court Garage to gateless entry and exit systems that simplify the parking experience. Starting Monday, September 30, customers will enter and exit the garage without pulling a ticket, swiping a credit card, or waiting for the gate to lift.
Once a customer has completed their transaction at Knighton or Gott’s Court, they will become a Metropolis member and no longer need to scan QR codes at these garages or any Metropolis platform-equipped facility in future visits.
How to Park at Knighton and Gott’s Court Garages
- On arrival at the garage, simply drive in and park. License plate reader (LPR) technology at the garage entrance will capture each vehicle's license plate to activate the start of a parking session.
- Find a spot and park.
- Use your smartphone to scan the QR code displayed on signage throughout the garage.
- Follow the prompts to enter your phone number, license plate number, and payment information to start your parking session.
- Walk away!
After activating a parking session, customers end the session by simply leaving the garage (the payment will be automatically calculated for the amount of time parked). The locations will be enforced, with citations issued to vehicles failing to pay within 24 hours of their visit.
