CRAB partners with Heritage Harbour to Launch the Art Savage Adaptive Radio Controlled Sailboat Program
Annapolis, MD - CRAB is thrilled to have longtime CRAB advocate and volunteer Art Savage and the Heritage Harbour Radio Controlled Sailing Club to launch the CRAB RC Sailing program in 2024! Many of CRAB's volunteers and guests are familiar with Art Savage. Art has served on the CRAB Board, been a volunteer Skipper/Crew, and was one of the lead PR supporters for Matt Rutherford's record sail non-stop around the Americas in 2012, which benefited CRAB's fundraising.
Art served on the CRAB Board of Directors for nearly a decade and helped guide the organization through some of its most challenging times. In addition, Art has unselfishly donated thousands of hours as a skipper and crew, taking CRAB guests out on the water and sharing his love of sailing on Chesapeake Bay.
The new program will allow CRAB guests to learn about the principles of sailing without leaving the Arthur & Patricia Edwards Family Marina. Guests will get first-hand experience sailing CRAB's new Dragon 65 Radio Controlled Sailboat fleet. The season will consist of six practice dates and four regattas. Guests who want to participate in the regattas must attend at least two of the practice dates. Times and dates will be available on the CRAB website.
