Parole Rotary has awarded a second $1100 scholarship to Miyeiva Byndloss of Glen Burnie as part of Parole Rotary's on-going AACC Foundation Scholarship Endowment Fund. She is an Anne Arundel Community College student majoring in Homeland Security This second award was made possible by a Rotary District matching grant to Parole's earlier efforts last year.
New this year Rotary District 7620 is offering four Post Secondary Scholarships of $5,000 to scholars residing in District 7620 and enrolled in an accredited US college, university or technical school for the 2012-2013 academic year. Applications and additional information is available from Parole Rotary @ www.parole-rotary.org and Bill Fine: wfine46@verizon.net Applications are due May 1, 2012.
Edit, enhance anyway you wish...I need to get Tom Finch to post the applications on the website. This should probably go to the Capital and the Gazettes.
This from Wendi Winters who has helped us in the Broadneck area before: Glen Burnie puts her in MD Gazette-land. But, you can try for MyTime coverage as a Rotary project thing. It’s easier to explain by phone, but Loretta Haring is the sendee for MyTime stuff. lharing@capgaznews.com (they all got new capgaznews.com email addresses earlier this month). Take 1-4 CLEAR high def photos (180 – 300 dpi) with no more than four people in a photo. Try to make them interesting. Send, with a caption identifying folks from LEFT to RIGHT with name, title and hometown … along with two succinct paragraphs describing what is going on.
Send the photos as jpg attachments along with the caption info and write up to Loretta. You can also try sending it to the community news desk at commnews@capgaznews.com .
You can do this for just about any Rotary event you do that has a news angle to it. To see how it is handled, look at the MyTime that ran this past Sunday. There are also several versions online in the News Index. You have to scroll around, but they are there. Also, make sure you send pix and photos to MD Gazette editor Rick Hutzell at rhutzell@capgaznews.com .
