In the south Baltimore community of Curtis Bay, at the corner of Church St and Pennington Avenue, there's a red brick office building. In years past, it housed medical offices, but it now stands as a beacon of light in the community. On the first floor of the building, you'll find Drink at The Well, more often known to the community and to the ladies we serve, as The Well. We are a community of women who know brokenness and deep suffering. Many of us come believing the lies that have echoed in our lives for years, but when we enter the doors and cross the threshold, we are ready for something better. We are ready for change.
The community of women at The Well is the starting point for that change. We are the first whisper of a life that can be different. We are the arms of unconditional love that ask nothing in return. We are people who will walk the long hard road to a new life.
When you walk through the doors of The Well, one of the greatest treasures you will find are the women who have gone before you. Women who are at different stages of their healing….women who have “been there”…women waiting to help. We are living proof that brokenness can be used for a greater purpose. We are living proof that love can heal….and change is possible.
Every woman is welcome. Every woman deserves a second chance. Every woman is worthy of love.
Programs and Resources
The original story of The Well is grounded in building relationships, mentoring and sharing life. Today, these same principles remain as our foundation. We have added many trainings and skill-building programs that help a woman to rebuild her life: workforce development, financial training, family coaching, spiritual development and more. If we don’t offer it, we will connect a woman to what she needs, including rehabilitative and psychiatric help, housing, and other services. The Well works closely with vetted partners to provide the support and services that create a holistic approach.
Our flagship program - COR Life Development - help women to become connected to a community, enjoy opportunities, and learn responsibility. It connects a woman to a long-term mentor who walks with her, loves her, listens to her, helps connects her to what she needs, and learns from her.
Our newest initiative is our social enterprise, Hon’s Honey, which offers a job, a paycheck, and a chance for meaningful work and a path toward financial independence. See more about our beauty and healing honey products.
Consider becoming involved at The Well or Hon's Honey. Like any nonprofit that does good work, The Well continues to thrive because of donors and volunteers who give their financial resources, talents and time. We invite you to be part of the unfolding story.
