Shooters Raise More than $11,000 for Compass Regional Hospice
Compass Regional Hospice hosted its first sporting clay tournament on September 23rd at Schrader’s Outdoors in Henderson. The event raised more than $11,650 that will be invested in priorities that consider the current and future needs of the residents served in Queen Anne’s, Kent, and Caroline Counties. The 70 shooters who participated in the tournament moved through Schrader’s world-class sporting clay course and participated in many activities. Raffles and door prizes were also awarded at the closing reception.Richardson joins Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum
Joshua Richardson of Easton has joined the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels as a Marine Mechanic. In this position, Richardson will assist in engine maintenance and repair operations of CBMM’s floating fleet of historic Chesapeake boats, as well as boats donated and sold through its charity boat donation program. Richardson will also help teach basic engine maintenance and repair skills to CBMM’s shipwright apprentices, as well as to youth enrolled in CBMM’s Rising Tide After-School Boatbuilding program. Richardson brings more than 15 years of marine technician experience to the position, including his most recent work at Easton Point Marina.Academy Art Museum Appoints Murphy as Director of Finance
Patrick R. Murphy of Stevensville has been appointed as Director of Finance at the Academy Art Museum in Easton. Murphy was previously the Associate Executive Director, Finance, and Administration at the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) before coming to the Museum. Murphy is accomplished in employee relations and streamlining administrative systems. While with NAESP, he performed contract negotiation with local unions, managed all human resource and benefit programs, and managed the membership processing team.Haven Ministries Run4Shelter Boosts Support of Shelter and Other Programs
297 registered runners and walkers participated in the ninth Run4Shelter Moonlight Edition event which raised funds for the operating expenses of Haven Ministries and its homeless shelter, resource center, food pantry, thrift store, and street outreach in Queen Anne’s County.
