As the old saying goes, “Like father, like son.”brbrThe Travelin’ McCourys have just released their first recorded single, “Cumberland Blues” and will release a new single every month, eventually leading to a release of a full album.

brbrThe Travelin’ McCourys bring the Grateful Ball with Jeff Austin Band to Rams Head On Stage Monday, October 24th, 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35. The Grateful Ball is a unique concert experience with a set from Jeff Austin Band followed by a set from The Travelin' McCourys and ending with a combined set from both bands of all Grateful Dead songs!

An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe

brBehind a locked wooden door and along the antique staircase of the Hammond-Harwood House hang portraits of the Pinkney family. Their connection to the acclaimed poet Edgar Allan Poe will be forever tied through their nephew Edward Coote Pinkney (1802-1828), an early muse for Poe. On this interactive tour, guests will enjoy an evening program in the ballroom led by a modern Edgar Allan Poe. He has returned to visit his muse’s childhood haunt. After the presentation, guests will be invited into the wine cellar to hear excerpts from one of Poe’s works and enjoy libations by candlelight.
Trick or Treat Trail

Touch-A-Truck

brThe Prince of Peace Church and Crofton Country Club have joined together in creating the first ever Touch–A–Truck event on Saturday, October 22nd, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Prince of Peace Church! This event is an opportunity for kids to get up close to all of the large trucks that they see on the roads and on TV. Some of the trucks making an appearance are a: fire engine, drag racing car, school bus, tow truck, crane, cherry picker, dump truck, excavator, limo, cement mixer, and many more! In an effort to give back to the community, the event is entirely free.

Runners will wind their way through the scenic community of Hillsmere Shores on paved roads, catching glimpses of the South River along the flat and fast USATF certified 5K and 10K courses. Runners can opt for the classic 10K Run, the 5K Run, or participate in the Family Fun Run (approximately one mile). Runners of all ages and experience levels are welcome.

O.C. Toberfest

brFree family fun returns to Ocean City for O.C.Toberfest. Come experience all the thrill of the giant Halloween Beach Maze during it’s two weekend run. Children of all ages, can enjoy a pleasant scream as they meander the sands of the giant, bigger and better than ever, beach maze! Wicked witches, pirates of the sand, scary scarecrows, ghouls in the graveyard, creepy clowns, zombies and more will add to the excitement. Another event that will take place as part of the O.C.Toberfest events will be the “Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade” October 22nd at 1pm on the boardwalk near North Division Street. brThe Annual Kite Festival at Sailwinds Park East next to the Visitor's Center on the banks of the Choptank River is a wonderful event that is fun for all ages, with some of the world's largest kites, stunt kite competitions, vendors, great food, and contests for the kids! Enjoy a fun afternoon with the family and experience the sheer joy of kite flying. Sky Jewels Kites will have kites for sale, and the Kite Enthusiasts known as Wings over Washington will return to show their amazing stunt kite flying abilities. And don't forget to watch out for MEL, the life sized Blue Whale kite, or OLO, the giant Octopus Kite - they're over 100 feet long!
11th Annual Cambridge Schooner Rendezvous

brThe Richardson Maritime Museum will welcome schooners and other historic vessels for the Eleventh Annual Cambridge Schooner Rendezvous. While they’re docked at Long Wharf, the ships will put out their gangplanks and invite the public aboard for tours and day sails. On Saturday and Sunday, day sails and dockside tours happen from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., along with live entertainment, food, vendors, family-friendly activities, walking tours of Cambridge’s historic High Street, and the Vigilant Crew encampment. Admission is free; each ship sets admission prices for tours and sails.
