× Small Town Local Brothers Pave Their Own Path in Country Music
brbrBefore recording a Grammy-nominated, No. 1 hit single, “Stay a Little Longer,” John and TJ Osborne were just your average southern brothers, growing up in a small fishing town of Deale, MD.
brbrAfter writing and performing for friends and family, the two decided to take their songs to the stage…together. Both John (guitar) and TJ (vocals) quickly grew a fan base. Before you know it, Brothers Osborne was formed.
brbrLittle did these small-town brothers know they would soon be named as “Ones to Watch” by Rolling Stone, Billboard, Spotify, Paste, Country Weekly, and Nashville Lifestyles. The duo most recently received the honor of Country Music Association Awards (CMA’s) “Vocal Duo of the Year”.
brBrothers Osborne is coming back to the region to perform at The Fillmore Silver Spring, Saturday November 5th, as part of their first ever tour, "Dirt Rich Tour". Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.
What’s Up? had the opportunity to speak with John from Brothers Osborne. Take a look at what he had to say about his career.
brPeabody award-wining broadcaster and New York Times best-selling author, Krista Tippett, is certainly making her mark in the journalism world.
brbrWith her journalist passion, Krista received the National Humanities Medal in 2014 from President Barack Obama and landed her most recent book, Becoming Wise: An Inquiry into the Mystery and Art of Living, on the New York Times best-seller list.
brbrWilling to break down the complexity that is faith, ethics, and human life, Krista created the Peabody Award-winning public radio conversation and podcast, On Being , which airs on more than 400 public radio stations across the U.S.
brbrExperience a live conversation led by Krista at the Avalon Theater on Thursday, November 17th, 7–8:30 p.m. She will be interviewing Anil Dash, a tech entrepreneur, activist, and advocate working to make technology and the tech industry more humane, inclusive, and ethical.
