Small Town Local Brothers Pave Their Own Path in Country Music
brbrBefore recording a Grammy-nominated, No. 1 hit single, “Stay a Little Longer,” John and TJ Osborne were just your average southern brothers, growing up in a small fishing town of Deale, MD. brbrAfter writing and performing for friends and family, the two decided to take their songs to the stage…together. Both John (guitar) and TJ (vocals) quickly grew a fan base. Before you know it, Brothers Osborne was formed.
brbrLittle did these small-town brothers know they would soon be named as “Ones to Watch” by Rolling Stone, Billboard, Spotify, Paste, Country Weekly, and Nashville Lifestyles. The duo most recently received the honor of Country Music Association Awards (CMA’s) “Vocal Duo of the Year”.
brBrothers Osborne is coming back to the region to perform at The Fillmore Silver Spring, Saturday November 5th, as part of their first ever tour, "Dirt Rich Tour". Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.

Across the Bay 10K

brDon’t miss the rare opportunity to run across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in the largest running event in Maryland with 25,000 participants and fifth largest 10k in the USA. This three-day event will have something for everyone! The Race Store with Official Bridge Race gear, food vendors, fitness products and gear vendors, charity booths, kids fun run registration and kids fun tent… just to name a few. The pre-race Expo will be held at the Navy Marine Corps Stadium. Times on race day vary, with disabled athletes beginning at 6:50 a.m. and the first wave of traditional athletes at 7 a.m. Registration is required and includes an award-winning technical shirt, race day transportation, finish line food, and a live concert.
Annapolis by Candlelight

br A crisp autumn evening is the perfect time to walk through one of the historic neighborhoods of Annapolis. The experience is even better when the doors to some of the homes are open and you are invited inside. Each year in early November, Historic Annapolis showcases privately-owned historic houses on its popular Annapolis by Candlelight tour. Visitors see how 21st-century Annapolitans care for and live in buildings built in the 20th, 19th, or 18th century. Each house is a reminder of the rich architectural and cultural heritage of Maryland’s capital city and illustrates the practical and aesthetic benefits of effective historic preservation.

Rock the Dock Fall Music Festival

brCome on out to Chesapeake Bay Resort’s concert featuring Groove-Spot and Show Band. For years the Groove-Spot Band & Show has been a local and regional favorite. Critically-acclaimed, they have performed and shared the stage with many of the nation’s leading recording acts. CASAblanca: A Starry Night

brOn the evening of November 5, 2016, Anne Arundel County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Inc. will celebrate 19 years of service to abused and neglected children with CASAblanca ~ Someone To Watch Over Me at the Westin Annapolis Hotel. Tug of War XIX

brAlso referred to as the “slaughter across the water”, this event is known as the signature event of The Maritime Republic of Eastport (The MRE) and will be held on Saturday, November 5th, 10 a.m. at Susan B Campbell Park and Second Street in Eastport. A rope spans across the Annapolis Harbor from Susan B. Campbell Park to Second Street with each side tugging for bragging rights. Also at this event will be live music provided by local bands, food vendors, beer & wine, crafters, and a chili cook off.Entrance to the event is free and there is a $25 fee for participants. All proceeds from this event are donated to local charities.
St. Andrew's United Methodist Church Crab Feast

brJoin St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church for a day filled with Crabs, BBQ, pizza and baked goods for dessert. Drinks are included and will require proper identification. In connection with the Crab Feast tournament, they will also be holding a Corn Hole Tournament, with proceeds helping to fund a new Youth Programs staff member at St. Andrew’s. 5K Trail Run/Walk for Character

br The 5K Run/Walk benefits the Character Counts Kent County character education program. Hosted at Crow Farm & Vineyard, the trail course will take you through the vineyard, past pastures of grazing cows, and over trails throughout fields of crops. Join us for a Run/walk and experience all that this beautiful farm has to offer. Because of the unique location of our course, runners should expect to experience uneven ground and other cross country trail run course conditions. Awards will be given to the Overall male & female winners and to the First and Second place winners in each age group. The Tasting Room will be open early for the race. Home - cooked chili and vegetable soup will be available for purchase, in addition to Crow Vineyard wines and Crow Farm beef, with special Turkey Trot event packages! All proceeds from the event benefit Character Counts Kent County.
