West Street, Main Street, Maryland Avenue, Market Space, Randall Street, and Dock Street will be filled with carolers, musicians, dancers, and performers to make your holiday shopping experience uniquely Annapolis. Enjoy the company of family and friends as you shop in the winter wonderland of holiday decorations, lights, and garland. Don’t forget to snap a photo in Snowflake Alley or in front of the Christmas tree!
A Christmas Carol – The Colonial Players
Thursday, December 6th through Saturday, December 8th, 8 p.m.
This classic production takes place, as Mr. Dickens himself would have it, in the streets of Victorian London and in the counting house and bedchamber of Ebenezer Scrooge. In the revelations of his visitors and in his memory, we are transported to times and places of Scrooge's past, present, and future. A Christmas Carol has been produced by Colonial Players of Annapolis since 1981. Though this show is SOLD OUT, standby tickets will be available for each performance at the Box Office beginning 30 minutes prior to performance time
Illuminated London Town – Historic London Town and Gardens

Bring the family to celebrate the holidays and experience the magic of a winter evening at Illuminated London Town. Sip hot cider and roast s'mores beside roaring fires in the Historic Area. Explore the gardens illuminated with festive holiday lights. Discover colonial nighttime and holidays at a candlelit William Brown House, decorated for the season. Enjoy special performances in the gardens each week.
The Nutcracker – Children’s Theatre of Annapolis

The Nutcracker is a holiday tradition unlike any other. The Chesapeake Ballet Company youth ballet corps brings their production of The Nutcracker to the Children’s Theatre of Annapolis for the 12th year.

Join Chesapeake BaySavers for its second annual Shells & Bells Party on the Creek. Enjoy a beautiful waterfront view of the Eastport Yacht Club Parade of Lights while staying warm in a heated outdoor tent. The event features specialty cocktails, local food, live music, a live auction, and much more.
Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade – Eastport Yacht Club

Lighting the Annapolis waterfront for more than 30 years, the Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade is one of Annapolis’ signature holiday events! Up to 40 boats, power and sail, brightly decorated and crewed by jolly revelers will parade along the Annapolis waterfront. Boats circle the waterfront in two fleets: one circling in front of Eastport, the City Dock, and the Naval Academy seawall, and the other circling the length of Spa Creek, inside the bridge.
Anniversary Run 15K – Quiet Waters Park
Sunday, December 9th, 10 a.m.
Join the Annapolis Striders for their 40th Anniversary Run 15K. The 9.3-mile run will take place on a course through Quiet Waters Park.
The Nutcracker Tea – The Hotel Annapolis

Fill your tea cup with holiday cheer as you experience the beauty and magic of Christmas. Enjoy a delicious high tea as you watch a mini performance of The Nutcracker come to life before your eyes, followed by story time with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Festivities include a Christmas parade, a gingerbread house display, a swinging gala, tours of beautifully decorated homes, and live music. Dickens of a Christmas – Downtown Chestertown

Enjoy holiday merriments with a Dickens twist in the heart of historic downtown Chestertown. This Victorian-themed weekend, organized by the nonprofit Main Street Chestertown organization, offers fun activities for the whole family, including horse-drawn carriage rides, street performers, live music and caroling, children’s games, authentic food and market vendors, a holiday house tour, fire dancers, afternoon teas, antique bicycles, and more.
Santa Swim – Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort, Cambridge
Saturday, December 8th, 9 a.m.
Grab your Santa suits (swimsuits, that is) and take a frosty dip in the Choptank during the annual Santa Swim. The Santa Swim is a fun way to raise money to help families, groups, and senior citizens in need through the programs that The Care & Share Fund supports. Participants of the Santa Swim may compete for a trophy for the best fundraiser.
Crab Pot Christmas Tree Lighting and Boat Parade – Phillips Wharf Environmental Center
Saturday, December 8th, 5:30 p.m.
Kick off the holiday season with the Tilghman Island community during the annual Crab Pot Christmas Tree Lighting and Boat Parade. The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. with cocoa and cookies with Santa, followed by the tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. The boat parade begins at 7 p.m. at the west end of Knapps Narrows near the Tilghman Island Marina, and the evening will conclude with an awards ceremony at Characters Bridge Restaurant.
Run Like the Dickens 5K – Chester Cemetery, Chestertown
Sunday, December 9th, 8–10 a.m.
Don your stocking cap or top hat and get ready to run through the streets of historic Chestertown for the second annual Run Like the Dickens 5K. The route starts and finishes in the heart of downtown and includes historic Chester Cemetery, where the Ghost of Marley roams! Walkers are welcome, and there’s a special Dickens Dash just for the kids. It's all part of the Dickens of a Christmas weekend sponsored by the nonprofit Main Street Chestertown organization.
Santa Chase – Martinak State Park, Denton
Sunday, December 9th, 3:30 p.m.
Enjoy a 2-mile walk, run, or jog filled with holiday magic during the fifth annual Santa Chase. Candle luminaries and holiday lights will light up the race trail. Be sure to dress in your best holiday attire for the costume challenge, which will be judged by Santa himself.
