The keynote speaker was LT David Lewald of Coast Guard Sector Baltimore, who took the buoy tender CGC James Rankin to the Gulf of Mexico last summer to assist oil skimming operations following the massive oil spill there. His slide presentation kept the more than sixty attendees rivited, as he spoke of the difficulties and small victories in this operation.
