Period Fashion Show - What's Underneath? Dressing the Civil War Woman

Join us for a lecture and presentation of authentic Civil War-era women’s garments. Costume collector Heather Hook will show clothing items typically found in a woman’s wardrobe of the period and how they were worn. Dressing ladies from the skin out involved multiple layers of clothing, so her collection includes undergarments and gowns worn for early day, teatime, evening, balls, weddings, and while in mourning.

Bus Trip: Philadelphia Flower Show

The Friends of Tawes Garden and Arboretum in Annapolis is doing a bus trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show, the largest horticultural extravaganza in the United States, on March 6th. The bus will leave from and take you back to Naval Academy Stadium parking lot. The $120 trip includes luxury motor coach transportation, admission to the show, snacks, beverages, and gratuity.
