The 39th Annual Fine Arts Festival has become the new talk of the town for artists and collectors alike. Every year with new juried selections, the curated exhibit and sales kicks off the season for art appreciation. Get tips on I-phone nature photography, creating sacred spaces outdoors, taking care of native trees, and using a medicine wheel. Join a guided labyrinth walk, take a restoration tour, or wander our nature trails. Experience live musical and dance performances by local community groups.

A full day of forest fun is planned for Adkins Arboretum’s inaugural Earth Day Adkins event, a celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day! Participants can expect a bevy of Earth-friendly activities, including mixing up gooey seed balls, painting with natural dyes, drumming, stitching a tree tapestry and dip netting in the stream. A forest scavenger hunt, nature bingo, guided walks and citizen science demos will also be part of the fun. Legendary ecologist and conservationist Nick Carter will be dip netting on the wetland boardwalk, and there will be a tree giveaway with a Department of Natural Resources forester, made possible through the Backyard Buffer program. Yoga instructor Suzann Zdnowski will lead a Yoga in the Woods class at 2:30 p.m. that is free with event admission.

Songbird Festival: A Women's Experience

The Songbird Collective, a group made up of local Annapolis musicians Laura Brino, Danah Denice, Jeanette Lynn and Meg Murray, is excited to announce the inaugural Songbird Festival: A Women’s Experience, taking place at Maryland Hall on Saturday April 22nd, 2023 from 1-4pm. The festival aims to connect all women by providing a platform for storytelling and artistic expression, and a safe space to find commonality and community in the shared female experience. The Songbird Festival is committed to reflecting the diversity and multicultural reality of the women’s community in regard to race, ethnicity, religion, age, physical ability, gender identity, and sexual orientation, and strives to reflect that diversity in the programming team, participants, performers, presenters and vendors.

His presentation will examine measurers to limit nutrients and sediment that are causing dead zones and living resources to decline, and address steps we, as individuals, can take to ensure the Bay life we once enjoyed.
A Locally Cureated Farm to Table Dinner at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation

You're invited to celebrate the season with a five-course meal prepared by small business farmers and caterers from all around Maryland! Join us for cocktail hour with light bites and cocktails from 5-6pm, or for our entire five-course meal with wine pairings! This evening features a sneak peek into how each business owner is looking to grow and scale their operations. Each farmer and caterer has been selected to prepare a dish together using locally-sourced ingredients. A select panel of judges will be on-site to ask a few questions of each participant to better understand the growth goals of these entrepreneurs. At the end of the night, one entrepreneur per cohort (farmer and caterer/baker) will walk away with $5,000!
Londontowne Symphony Orchestra Rising Stars Features Talented Local Youth

The Londontowne Symphony Orchestra’s Rising Stars concert will feature three winners of LSO’s annual, state-wide Young Artist Concerto Competition in works for clarinet, violin, and cello. The concert also will feature the Arundel Vocal Arts Society, JoAnn Kulesza, Music Director; and All Children's Chorus of Annapolis, Lauren Walker, Artistic Director. All will perform with the orchestra.

Elktonia-Carr's Beach, a historically black beach in Annapolis, was a vacation and entertainment destination for many African American families throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Last year, Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation successfully saved the last 5 acres of this iconic property. This fundraiser will support its future preservation, expansion and ability to keep its stories alive.
