The Five Families at The Mainstay

Then take a left turn towards Brubeck, the blues, and other surprise visits along the way. That’s the platform for the Five Families Ensemble led by NY jazz pianist, sax player Monk Rowe. This is a feel-good band!
Bike MS: Chesapeake Challenge 2024

Your two-day ride will begin and end in the historic town of Easton. Enjoy beautiful Maryland roads, along with other historic towns like Saint Michaels. With multiple route options for participants of all abilities, you’ll experience the magic of Chesapeake no matter which one you choose. You’ll end your first day of cycling at the Elks Lodge where you’ll be in for a mission-focused evening program featuring a delicious buffet dinner.
Celebrate Juneteenth Annapolis

The mission of the Annapolis Juneteenth Celebration is to commemorate the emancipation of the last enslaved Africans in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived to Galveston, Texas to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation. Although the Emancipation Proclamation had been issued over two years prior, the news was withheld from many enslaved Africans. Today, we celebrate the freedom and continued legacy of resistance, empowerment, and community building.

Created as a way to expose local music to a larger audience, Eastport a Rockin’ has drawn attendees from throughout the neighborhood and across the region since 1997 and is known as the local music festival of the summer. 35+ bands will perform, keeping local, original music a key component of Eastport a Rockin’. Up and coming local bands with a wide range of styles will display their talents alongside longtime favorites. Over the years, Eastport a Rockin’ has featured such bands as Good Charlotte and Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, and the next big act just might be in this year’s line-up. From rock to folk to roots to blues to jazz to bluegrass to funk, and even some Kindie rock the breadth of music types found at the Festival is sure to please everyone who attends.

Everything's Coming Up Singing

Join The Annapolis Blend chorus for our Spring Singer Guest Program, “Everything’s Coming Up SINGING!” on Tuesdays from 7 to 8:15 p.m., Now through June 25 when we will showcase what you’ve learned in a public performance. The program is free and will be held at the Annapolis Senior Activity Center, 119 S. Villa Ave, Annapolis, MD 21401. All women who love to sing are invited. The Annapolis Blend is a local chapter of Sweet Adelines International, women’s a Capella singing in the style of barbershop.
