July 21st; Maryland Department of Agriculture, Annapolis
The Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) is inviting chefs using local Maryland ingredients to submit original recipes for the Governor’s Buy Local Cookout, being held at MDA in Annapolis on July 21. MDA is partnering with the Restaurant Association of Maryland (RAM) in this competition featuring Maryland agriculture and seafood products. Recipes must include products from at least one Maryland farmer, waterman, or other producer. Chefs are encouraged to submit simple, but creative recipes featuring at least one local vegetable\fruit or blue catfish and showcase ways the average Maryland family can prepare delicious, nutritious meals with locally produced food at home. RAM will honor two winning chefs, one for blue catfish and one for fruits\vegetables, with a ‘Golden Ticket’ to the World Food Championships in Dallas. Chefs are also invited to celebrate Maryland’s farmers, watermen and the resilient restaurants of the state in a cookout.

The Kent County Fair is back with rides, livestock auction, live music, great food, livestock and pet shows, an antique tractor pull, and more. The fair is at the Kent County Fairgrounds in Chestertown from July 21st through July 23rd and should not be missed! July 21st Local favorites Jason Morton & Chesapeake Sons will bring a taste of country and a heart of rock to the Cascia Winery On Thompson Creek Road in Stevensville. Influenced by the Black Crowes, these guys have opened for ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd. With deep roots here on the Shore, they will deliver a well-paced energetic show with a something to get everyone's toes tapping.
Superintendent's Combo at Annapolis City Docks

The United States Naval Academy Band Superintendent's Combo will perform a fun, funky jazz concert fit for a pleasant summer evening in Annapolis, MD. Selections will include works by Gordon Goodwin, Roy Hargrove, and the band "Galactic." All Naval Academy Band concerts are free and open to the public with no tickets required.

Join Shenandoah Run for a benefit concert to support Razom for Ukraine, a highly rated Ukraine based charity already hard at work. The entire proceeds from this concert will go to Razom for Ukraine. Ticket price is "Whatever you can give" - and please be generous!

The Heart of the Chesapeake Bike Tour, in its 7th year, offers riders three routes through beautiful Cambridge and scenic Dorchester County. Rides include a Metric Century (66 miles), a Half Century (52 miles) or the Ragged Point Ride (32 miles). Funds raised support the Robbins Family Y, to ensure everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
