The goal of the Annapolis Jazz & Roots Festival is to foster an appreciation for cultural diversity and artistic excellence in a cordial and inviting atmosphere. Our inspiring, educational and fun activities entertain participants of many interests, ages and backgrounds. We are especially interested in teaming up with state, county and city government, non-profit organizations and businesses, schools and libraries. Our aim is to amplify the effects of existing programs and services which have the potential for greater public access.
Fount + Flourish Grand Opening

Fount + Flourish, a community dedicated to the empowerment, connection, and growth of women, is thrilled to announce the grand opening of their new downtown office at 100 Cathedral Street, Suite 7, Annapolis, MD 21401. Orlando Rideout V Memorial Lecture

The Orlando Rideout V Memorial Lecture will be at 5:30 at the Historic Inns Calvert House on State Circle. Opening remarks will be made by HIstoric Annapolis CEO Karen Theimer-Brown. Marcia Miller, Chief, Office of Research, Survey and Registration Maryland Historical Trust and Dr. Julia King, Professor and Chair of Anthropology of St. Mary's College of Maryland will be speaking as well.
Hospice and Palliative Care in Prince George's County Community Roundtable

There are many myths and misunderstandings surrounding hospice and palliative care. Everyone in the community can gain insight and get answers from the experts about these essential services when Hospice of the Chesapeake hosts a community roundtable, “Hospice and Palliative Care in Prince George’s County,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Student Center at Bowie State University, 1400 Jericho Park Road, Bowie, Maryland.
The panel will include multiple Hospice of the Chesapeake experts including Chief Medical Officer Dr. Marny Fetzer and will be moderated by Director of Nursing and Clinical Advocacy Rachel Sherman, DNP, FNP-BC. Also joining the panel will be Dr. Alvin Reaves III with U.S. Acute Care Solutions; Jacqueline Hill, PhD, RN, CNE of Bowie State University; Prince George’s County District 9 Council Member Sydney Harrison; Maryland State Senator Michael Jackson; and Chaplain Robin Walker, MDiv., BCC, of the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center.

49th Annual Maryland Irish Festival

Operation Green Light for Veterans

Tthe Town of Easton announced plans to illuminate town and county buildings green from November 6-12 as part of Operation Green Light for Veterans, a nationwide effort uniting towns and counties to support military veterans. The initiative, led by the National Association of Counties (NACo), raises awareness around the unique challenges faced by many veterans and the resources available at the county, state, and federal levels to assist veterans and their families.

The 10K course will traverse the eastbound span of the bridge from Anne Arundel County to Kent Island in Queen Anne's County and finish with a huge post-race party! Parking with shuttles to the start are available from both Anne Arundel County and Queen Anne's County.
