My fiance and I weren't willing to play that numbers game. David, who might be the most popular guy you've ever met, didn't want to cut any of his 10 best friends from being groomsmen, while I didn't want to add on girls that I wasn't close to just to make it even. Therefore, we will be sporting an uneven idal party, kind of like our good friends Holly and Adam did during their 10/8/09 wedding.
Their idal party was 7 to 6, so the maid and matron of honor (pictured in orange) were paired with the best man.
We're going to be a bit more uneven than that: 10 to 6. (As one idesmaid says, we could organize our own softball league.) At first, I wasn't quite sure how this was going to work. 10 to 5 is easy to work out — one idesmaid for each groomsman. 10 to 6? Hmm...r
Luckily, I figured it out —the first girl will be paired with one groomsman. The next four girls will be paired with two groomsmen. The maid of honor, my sister, will be paired with David's other.
I'm really glad we were able to work it out this way, and David and I were each easily able to include the people who mean the most to us.
