How-oh-how do I make my wedding unique and special and, well, me? As someone who has only been engaged for a few weeks, I wanted to research this not only for my future planning endeavors but also for you, our loyal What's Up? Weddings readers. Happily, I discovered quite a few ways to do it! Here are some of our favorite ways to make the best of your wedding experience (without eaking the bank):

1. Photo booth rentals
Photo booth rentals became the latest, greatest trend in the wedding world within the past few years, and it's no wonder why. They are insanely unique and wildly fun – when is the last time you were able to use a photo booth that wasn't at an amusement park or in the mall? Renting these is a sure-fire way to savor the memories from your wedding for a lifetime.

2. Favors
If you're searching for an inexpensive way to make your wedding unique, go ide-wild with your favors! A few of our favorites are featured on Bespoke-Bride, such as mini-boxes of s’mores (yum!), a disc of the couple’s favorite songs, and the personalized koozie for guests’ cold drinks (It’s #4 on Bepsoke’s list and just went to the top of mine). There is no shortage of talented local wedding professionals who can offer up additional suggestions, and help you pull it all together.

3. Cupcakes versus tiered cake
Nowadays, some couples are opting for an elegant display of cupcakes instead of the traditional tiered wedding cake. This can cut a few costs and still create the “Wow!” factor you've so desired since day one. And by using cupcakes, you have the option of giving your guests more than one or two cake and icing flavors (lemon and red velvet cake with whipped cream cheese frosting, please!). Take a peek at some of these cupcake displays we found on Pinterest: red cupcake display, beach themed cupcakes, “We Do” display. (By the way, if you aren't already following What's Up? Weddings on Pinterest, now is a good time to start!)

4. Glow Sticks
Glow sticks aren't only for concerts anymore! Bring some ightness to your wedding – perfect for night wedding ceremonies or receptions! Have a basket of glow sticks waiting at the front door of your reception venue for your guests to go crazy with! What a fun and inexpensive way to create a truly colorful evening (I've seen packs of these frequent the dollar spot at Target, hint hint).

5. “Guest” libs (Mad libs)
Do you remember when you were a kid and used to beg your mom to buy you the latest Mad Lib booklet? Okay, maybe not, but I certainly do. Have these (and something to write with) waiting for guests as they walk into the reception venue (next to the glow sticks, perhaps). These are fun because they can be made to be as unique as the couple getting hitched. See some pre-made examples we like from Etsy!
