Mrs. Susanna Bainbridge & Mr. Steven Bainbridge met in college while auditioning for the musical The Fantasticks. They were asked to perform the show's love song — Steven landed the part, while Susanna shared her role with Steven's then-girlfriend. Years later, the pair married at Susanna's childhood home in Westminster, where her horse conveyed Susanna to the ceremony.
“From the start, I knew I wanted seersucker to be a major texture in our wedding. I learned that the word is derived from a Persian phrase meaning ‘milk and sugar,’ and, from then on, I knew I wanted a wedding of ‘milk and sugar!’ The bridesmaids and groomsman all wore seersucker and I did my darndest to find seersucker shoes–thank you Chanel!”

“My dad gifted Steven his beautiful vintage Jos. A. Banks seersucker suit, and it fit perfectly! Our accent color was yellow (my favorite color) and our signature drink was mint juleps (our favorite drink; and song, by the Punch Brothers)–the fact that I found all of this in a real bowtie was astounding. It is Steven’s favorite bowtie to this day.”
