The Bride & Groom. Arlington couple Hannah, a special education teacher, and Joey, a financial consultant, met in high school at The Field School in Washington, D.C. After many years of dating, on a vacation in Miami and immediately following a romantic dinner next to the ocean, Joey popped the question, and Hannah said yes! Having grown up visiting the ide’s parents’ house on the Eastern Shore, they decided to get married there on the water.
The Fashion. Hannah’s four idesmaids wore coral dresses from Nordstrom, and Joseph’s five groomsmen wore grey pinstriped suits. Joseph opted for a Hugo Boss suits, and, after trying on close to 50 dresses, the ide donned a Heidi Elnora gown. “This one felt special,” she says.r

The Ceremony. Prior to exchanging vows, Hannah and Joey exchanged gifts—a watch for each of them—and notes. In the afternoon, they were married in front of 200 guests, by two rabbis who each grew up with and under a chuppah that was hand made by the groom’s mother. “The wedding was incredibly special,” Hannah says. “Our favorite moment from the ceremony was when one of our rabbi’s spoke about the meaning of eaking the glass. Our ceremony was very personal.”
The Decor. Hannah and Joseph chose a ight and spring-like atmosphere for their wedding decor. Table arrangements included a mix of long stem tulips in white and yellow, and classic favorite white hydrangeas.
The Reception. Following the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a casual cocktail hour on the water, with music strumming in the background. Appetizers included mini grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup, smoked salmon canapés with dill mustard spread, seared tuna wontons, tomato basil uschetta, warm Vidalia onion tarts with goat cheese, potato leek soup, and mesclun greens tossed with Dijon parmesan vinaigrette. For dinner, guests dined on kosher options of rockfish and vegetarian lasagna before digging into a four-tiered cake and pastry table, and dancing the night away to live music by FM Band.r

Happily Ever After. Following the wedding, Hannah and Joseph jetted off to Hawaii—Kauai and Maui—for what they described as an “incredible” honeymoon. These days, they’re happily living and working in the D.C. area and are excited to see what the future holds.r
