A Wintery Styled Elopement at Rosewood Farms

A lot of couples shy away from hosting winter weddings -- maybe they're intimidated by frosty temperatures or fears that their nuptials will clash with holiday plans. But wedding ceremonies in the coldest months are our favorite; their cozy details beget natural intimacy. And this styled shoot, pulled together by Sarah Amyot (Amyot Events) at Elkton's Rosewood Farms is one of the season's finest. We love the modern details, from the lush, asymmetrical arch to the groom's black velvet suit jacket.

"It was really important for me to use florals and especially greens that center around the season," says Itzel Sanchez, the owner of By Grace Floral Designs. Sanchez used a mix of playa blanca roses, eucalyptus and Italian ruscus for the bride's bouquet.

The asymmetrical arch was built with the branches of a balsam tree.

The cake, baked by Caitlin Taylor (The Artful Apron), was inspired by coquito, a Puerto Rican drink similar to eggnog. 

Cherokee Caroll, the baker behind Kickback Cakes, provided amaretto and vanilla bundtlets. 

Vanilla bean sugar cookies by Mulberry Treats doubled as place cards and dessert.
