ANNAPOLIS FILM FESTIVAL MARCH 26 – MARCH 29
Photo courtesy of Annapolis Film Festival -- Appropriate Behavior by Desiree Akhavan is a narrative film about a young woman struggling to strike the balance between becoming an ideal Persian daughter and hip young Brooklynite. Even though she feels she is not quite anything enough, she starts to find her way through self-reflection and life experiences.
The 3rd Annual Annapolis Film Festival will take place from March 26-March 29, 2015 and will feature more than 70 films including narratives and documentaries, showcases, and shorts programs. There will be films from Cambodia, the UK, Netherlands, Germany, Canada as well as the United States. This year, the festival will screen films about the African-American, Jewish, and LGBT experiences; sports, gangs, mental health, war, comedy, sailing, and much more. The festival will include film premieres, panel discussions, Q&As with filmmakers, industry guests, special showcases, and parties. Festival passes are available for $105 and allow unlimited access to films and panels throughout the festival including Opening Night festivities. Times vary based on film. Screening venues include Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, St. John’s College, St. Anne’s Parish Hall, Asbury Methodist Church, and Annapolis Elementary. EASTERN SHORE SEA GLASS & COASTAL ART FESTIVAL
The Eastern Shore Sea Glass & Coastal Art Festival will showcase artisans inspired by the frosted shards to create one-of-a-kind jewelry, home décor and art on March 28th and 29th in St. Michaels.. The festival will also have wine tastings, featuring Sea Glass Wine Company from Napa, California, hosted by Tilghman Island County Store. Presented by Ophiuroidea, the festival takes place March 28th 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and March 29th 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and shares the history of sea glass in the Chesapeake Bay region.
