Trawler Fest returns to BMC HarborView Marina and runs through Sunday the 29th. Thursday and Friday nights at 5:30 will feature a cocktail reception for a night of socializing, dancing, drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Thursday’s location has yet to be determined but Friday’s reception will be held at the marina. Saturday’s cocktail and awards reception will be held aboard the John S.S. John W. Brown, “Project Liberty Ship.” The PassageMaker People’s Choice Award, Exhibitor Design Award, and the Ocean Navigator’s Longest Distance Award will be handed out.
Trawler Fest is the ideal place to owse your favorite boats, socialize with other seafarers, and owse dozens of land and water exhibitors. There will be seminars and demonstrations all weekend long that will help you become more knowledgeable about boats.
Maryland Therapeutic Riding in Crownsville will host its 13th Annual Live on the Farm Benefit Concert on Friday night, featuring a concert from Ricky Skaggs with The Hard Travelers as the opening act. Proceeds will benefit programs that are aimed toward helping people with physical, developmental and emotional challenges. There will be a pre-concert rider demonstration, silent and live auctions, music and food. The event takes place rain or shine. Doors open at 5:30 with music beginning at 7:30. Tickets are $65 for general admission and $125 for VIP, which includes reserved seating and an artists reception.

On the Eastern Shore, Adkins Arboretum in Ridgely will host its Magic in the Meadow Gala on Saturday from 6-9 p.m. Enjoy an elegant, yet relaxing setting in the South Meadow with music from B Natural and Joe Holt on the piano and a delectable dinner from Magnolia Caterers.
Outside Westfield Annapolis Mall, the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition Central Maryland Chapter will host its 4th Annual 5KRun/3KWalk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer on Sunday starting at 7:30 a.m. This walk will have a survivor tent and photo, age group awards, kids activities, entertainment, chance prize drawings, and refreshments.
