Ignite Annapolis – Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, Annapolis Thursday, March 14th, 6:30 p.m. Spend an evening being entertained, inspired, and enlightened during Ignite Annapolis, a fast-paced speaker series aimed at building community and sparking discussion. The event will feature 16 speakers, each taking the stage for five minutes to deliver fast-paced talks on topics including environment, health and wellness, philanthropy, prison reform, economic development, and gun violence. State of the Magothy – Anne Arundel Community College, Arnold Friday, March 15th, 6:30 p.m. Join the Magothy River Association for its annual report on the health of the Magothy River. This event is free and open to the public. Comedy Night – Blackwall Barn & Lodge, Gambrills Friday, March 15th, 7:30 p.m. Join Blackwall Barn & Lodge for dinner and a show, featuring comedian Rob Maher. Maher is a regional winner of Comedy Central’s Up Next Competition. He is a favorite performer at the DC Improv and at Funny Bone’s all the over the country and can be seen this year on Kevin Hart’s new Comedy Central show, Hart of the City. Annapolis Opera: Carmen – Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, Annapolis Friday, March 15th, 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 17th, 3 p.m. The Annapolis Opera presents Carmen, starring mezzo-soprano Cassandra Velasco. Bizet’s Carmen has everything you want in an opera: a twisting tale, passion, deceit, and incredible melodies from the fiery “Habanera” to the “Toreador Song.” Bizet’s final work is known worldwide and has become one of the most popular and frequently performed operas. Hospice of the Chesapeake's 40th Anniversary Gala – Maryland Live! Event Center, Hanover Saturday, March 16th, 5:30 p.m. Join Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation in celebrating “40 Years of Caring for Life” during its annual gala. This elegant and fun-filled evening will feature dinner, drinks, auctions, and dancing. Proceeds will help support Hospice of the Chesapeake’s vital programs.

Harlem Globetrotters – Wicomico Youth & Civic Center, Salisbury Thursday, March 14th, 7 p.m. The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters bring their talent and humor to Wicomico Youth & Civic Center. The all-new Fan Powered Tour will give attendees over 20 opportunities, both during and after the game, to directly interact with the Globetrotters. Irish Bingo – Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, Grasonville Friday, March 15th, 5:30 p.m. Kick off St. Patrick’s Day with some old-fashioned bingo at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center. Snacks and drinks will be provided, and homemade Irish soups and soda bread will be available to purchase. Game winners will receive a cash prize of $30 per game, and there will be plenty of door prizes donated by local businesses. Proceeds benefit the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center. St. Paddy's Day 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run – General James F. Fretterd Community Center, Denton Saturday, March 16th, 7:30 a.m. Start your salute to the Irish on this certified fast and scenic course through Denton. Choose between a 5K or a 1-Mile Fun Run. Leashed lucky dog companions are welcome! The event also features the Lil’ Leprechaun Dash, a thrilling 200-meter chase exclusively for youngsters ages 3-5 that starts at 8:30am. Eastern Shore Fishing Expo – American Legion Post #18, Centreville Saturday, March 16th, 8:30 a.m. The Eastern Shore Fishing Expo will feature expert speakers sharing tips on catching rockfish, red and black drum, cobia, and more. St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival – Ocean City Saturday, March 16th, 12 p.m. Everyone loves to be Irish at Ocean City's famous parade! The St. Patrick's Day Parade begins at 60th Street, parades south to the 45th Street Judging Stand, and into the parking lot where the Irish Festival takes place. Cambridge Shamrock Stroll – Downtown Cambridge Saturday, March 16th, 2 p.m. Don you best Irish gear and head to downtown Cambridge for the third annual Cambridge Shamrock Stroll. Whether you are Irish or just Irish for the day, join in the search for luck and a pot of gold in downtown Cambridge! The crawl will hit the Wine Bar, Portside Seafood Restaurant, Snapper’s Waterfront Cafe, Black Water Bakery, and RAR Brewing. St. Patrick’s Day in St. Michaels – Town of St. Michaels Sunday, March 17th St. Michaels is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with special events. The annual Carpenter Street Saloon shopping cart races are held every year on St. Patrick’s Day at Midnight. Proceeds benefit the St. Michaels and Tilghman Fire Departments. The Blackthorn Irish Pub will have their annual event with live music and Bag Pipers. St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Downtown Easton Sunday, March 17th, 5:30 p.m. Come to downtown Easton for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Potato Race! The parade will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with over 40 floats, performers, and organizations, including Easton’s famous bagpipers. Then, stick around immediately after the parade to see the annual Potato Race, sponsored by the Talbot County Young Professionals on Washington Street.
