United States Navy Band – Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts

The United States Navy Concert Band, the premier wind ensemble of the U.S. Navy, presents a wide array of marches, patriotic selections, orchestral transcriptions, and modern wind ensemble repertoire. As the original ensemble of the Navy Band, the Concert Band has been performing public concerts and participating in high-profile events for over 85 years.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead – Annapolis Shakespeare Company
Friday, February 1st, 8 p.m.; Saturday, February 2nd, 2 p.m. & 8 p.m.; Sunday, February 3rd, 2 p.m.
The play (a modern tragicomedy) concerns the misadventures and musings of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, two minor characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet, focusing on their actions with the events of Hamlet as background.
Winter Lecture Series: African American Experience – Historic London Town and Gardens, Edgewater

Each Saturday, learn from a noted scholar about the African American experience in the Chesapeake region. This week’s topic is “Competing Realities: Black Southern Marylanders and Their Quest to Shape Freedom in ‘Loyal’ Maryland 1860–1880.”

Chesapeake Utilities presents Rev. Dr. John G. Moore, Sr. in “A Reflection on the Dreamer…Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” Moore is a famed orator and King impersonator who has re-enacted King’s speeches in Maryland, Delaware, and D.C. Moore’s presentation will include portions of King’s most famous speeches including “We Shall Overcome,” “I Have a Dream,” “The Drum Major Instinct,” and “The Mountain Top,” King’s final speech.
The Dining Room – Wor-Wic Community College, Salisbury

The play is set in the dining room of a typical well-to-do household, the place where the family assembled daily for breakfast and dinner and for any and all special occasions. The action is comprised of a mosaic of interrelated scenes—some funny, some touching, some rueful—which, taken together, create an in-depth portrait of a vanishing species: the upper-middle-class WASP. The actors change roles, personalities, and ages with virtuoso skill as they portray a wide variety of characters, from little boys to stern grandfathers, and from giggling teenage girls to Irish housemaids.

Celebrate 50 years of ALABAMA on their 50th Anniversary Tour coming to Royal Farms Arena. Pet Loss Workshop – Dogwood Acres, Davidsonville

Have you or someone you know lost a pet? Dogwood Acres Pet Retreat is sponsoring, at no cost, a Pet Loss Workshop to help bereaved pet owners cope with their grief and realize they are not alone. This small group workshop, conducted by Hospice of the Chesapeake, includes a welcome, a time to share individual stories, an introduction to the grief process, an art activity to honor the beloved pet, and brainstorming and suggestions for healthy coping.
